After nearly 34 years owning and running my locksmith business here in Edinburgh, major family health issues meant I had to retire during the early part of 2024. I took the extremely difficult decision to completely close A1 Lockman Security Ltd in the autumn of 2024. The company was subsequently officially dissolved in the first quarter of 2025.
Roll on a few months and as a result of numerous requests from previous clients, I agreed to reverse things a wee bit and go to “semi-retirement”. As a result “All Very Handy” was set up to provide a bespoke maintenance and security service to Property Factors and other valued customers who had used my locksmith and maintenance services previously when trading as A1 Lockman Security Ltd.
Over the years I found my locksmith business had changed substantially from pure locksmithing to covering many other tasks. I continually received requests from Property Managers to undertake these fiddly wee jobs that some other contractors either could not, or would not undertake. (See list below.)
A full “locksmith” service is no longer available.
I do not deal with emergency lock-outs and there is no 24Hr service.
Lock changes/upgrades and a reduced key cutting service are still available.
Work days – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 10am – 4pm.
